1. Read the specification before the budget
Most degausser tenders in India come down to a small number of decisive clauses. Find these four before you do anything else:
- Is an NSA listing required? If yes, the choice narrows to the T-4 and T-5 degaussers and the PDS-75 and PDS-100 crushers. Nothing else in the range satisfies it.
- Is there a minimum field strength? "Not less than 20,000 Gauss" points at the T-4 or T-5. "Not less than 1 Tesla" opens the whole T-series.
- Is battery or UPS operation required? The T-4 has a 12 V battery operation option. Most other models do not.
- Is flash media in scope? If the specification says "all electronic media", a degausser alone does not satisfy it — a PDS-88 or PDS-SSD destroyer is needed, and stating that in the tender is better than discovering it at evaluation.
